What to Expect
If you are clicking around on my website, chances are you are considering starting therapy. Welcome and congratulations on taking this first step! Beginning therapy is commonly an anxiety-provoking situation, especially if you have never done it before. Just remember, the unknown can at times be a scary place, but taking chances is necessary to move forward and sometimes these risks really pay off! Perhaps I can provide you with a little bit more information that may ease some of your worries.
If you would like to schedule an appointment, I can be reached by the contact form on this site, by email, or by phone. I am committed to being present with my clients for the majority of my workday, so my office phone is on mute and I respond to voicemails left when I have an appropriate moment to do so. I am most responsive to emails as this is something I can typically tend to between sessions.
We will schedule a time to meet for the first appointment. Before the first appointment, I will send you a link to log in to your client portal where you can complete some initial paperwork. During our first session, we will go over what concerns prompted you to engage in therapy, what bio-psycho-social history is relevant to your concerns, and develop a framework of what you would like to get from therapy. We can work together to develop a frequency for appointments that works for your schedule and financial situation. I try my best to run on-time for appointments and you should allow an hour for each session.
